What is Foodie Beast (>5 Min Read)

This blog was born from the countless conversations we have had with our male friends and family members about cooking and eating food. While the subject matter is similar to the conversations I have with our female friends and family members, the male conversations were just slightly different. We tended to focus on the ultimate versions of food, great tools, and technology we were using, restaurants we have visited and the lengths we will go for great food with a bit of gentlemanly one-upmanship.

While there is a great number of food publications out there, we just were not finding a publication that resembled these conversations. And the publications that were “for the guys” were confined to the categories of what we like to call “BBQ and Beer”. We love these publications, but we also understand that guy’s involvement in food goes well beyond those confines of the bar and grill.

Does this mean Foodie Beast is for guys only, of course not. We understand and celebrate that women can be awesome BBQ chefs, just like guys can be great bakers. While this is a truth, we rarely see these role reversals reflected in websites, blogs, and television shows. We thought that it was time to change that.

Finally, while we love food, we don’t hold it precious and have more than enough guilty pleasures than we hate to admit. We believe that the best food is shared with great people whether you are in a 5-star restaurant or on the sidewalk outside a great food truck. We celebrate all forms of great food regardless of the location.
